A GOOD DEED

Scripture Reading - Matthew 25:37-40

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. KJV

These verses remind us that when it comes to serving people in the Name of the Lord Jesus we are doing God a favor. The Lord can not be here physically to help all the people upon the face of the earth at one time. Therefore the Lord Jesus has commissioned His Body to represent His Person as we minister and interact with people all over the earth. Notice that when you do “a good deed” whether the person thanks you or even acknowledges you, you still get credit from Jesus because His rewards are based upon your heart, not the reaction of the people you serve. The Lord Jesus Christ and Father God did not base the awesome plan of salvation upon the actions of men. The Father planned our salvation even with the knowledge that some people would reject His Son Jesus Christ. Our Lord and Savior Jesus suffered the shame and crucifixion of cross in the midst of many who rejected God’s plan but He did not let the actions of unbelievers stand in His Way. Likewise, as Children of God we must not let others discourage us from doing good deeds because we serve the Lord Jesus Christ. This means He is always watching, so we just keep on serving people as we would serve Jesus with gladness of heart because Jesus is worthy of all our "good deeds". We know God is worthy because He counted us worthy of His wonderful great deed of Salvation. Amen!
